It was a very close commute, and the people I worked with were very nice and personable. I gained a lot of experience working in a health department setting with public health. I also got to apply a lot of my own knowledge and creativity to a lot of informational projects for them. I was allowed to shadow anyone I wanted to and go to any/ all offsite trips I wanted.
What I wish was different
I would've liked to had a paid job/internship
Advice
I think it was beneficial to do any type of learning experience, even if it is for a little bit and unpaid. It helped me realize the things I like, and the things I don't like in my major/ field of public health.
